61st Independence: AIG sues for a hitched-free celebration, charges CPs to ensure adequate security

PATRICK ABANG, Calabar –

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 6 Headquarters Calabar, Usman Sule Gomna on Friday felicitated with the government and people of Cross River and Akwa Ibom States on the occasion of Nigeria’s 61st Independence anniversary.

In a statement issued by DSP Nelson Okpabi, Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, said the AIG charged the the Commissioners of Police in the two States to ensure adequate security during and after the Independence celebration through intelligence led and citizens driven community policing approaches

He also called on the peace loving people of the two states to be security conscious as “they mark 61 years of our dear country’s nationhood and go about their lawful businesses counting on the police for security of lives and property”.
