Femi Azeez
English Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Super Eagles winger Femi Azeez from Championship club Millwall on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The Seagulls confirmed that both clubs submitted a deal sheet before Tuesday’s 11 p.m. transfer deadline, securing an extension until 1 a.m. on Wednesday to finalise the transfer.
Reacting to the acquisition, Brighton Sporting Director Mike Cave expressed excitement over the arrival of the Nigerian international.
“We are delighted to add Femi to the squad. He arrives off the back of an excellent season with Millwall, having played a key role for them as they finished in the playoffs.
“He was one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Championship, and we’re delighted to have finally agreed his transfer, and we now looking forward to working with him.”
Azeez joins Brighton after an impressive spell with Millwall, where he made 77 appearances, scored 15 goals and registered 13 assists. His outstanding performances during the 2025/26 campaign earned him places in both the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Team of the Season and the EFL Championship Team of the Season.
The 25-year-old’s rise to the Premier League has been remarkable. After beginning his youth career at Watford, he featured for non-league sides Northwood, Wealdstone and Hanwell Town before earning a move to Reading in 2019. He joined Millwall in 2024 and quickly established himself as one of the Championship’s most dangerous attacking players.
Azeez has also made a strong impression on the international stage. He announced himself in style for Nigeria by scoring both goals in the Super Eagles’ 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe on his senior debut in June.
Four days later, he provided an assist as Nigeria defeated Jamaica 3-0 to lift the Unity Cup in London.
The winger becomes the second Nigerian player in Brighton’s squad this season following the club’s earlier signing of fellow winger Zadok Yohanna from Swedish side AIK Stockholm.
