The Japanese fibre giant, Kanekalon collaboration workshop with Hair Associations in Abuja, Nigeria Capital ends the partnership series on March, 26,2025 with Darling at Afri Hotel opposite War College, sensitising consumers on how to distinguish authentic Kanekalon products from counterfeits through the flame retardant test.
The Wuse Unit of hair Association Mrs Bilikisu Salawu, in her opening speech exalted the brand and commended the collaboration workshop initiative, while recognising other hair Associations present and other stakeholders at the workshop.
Mrs Salawu highlighted the importance of working together with other hairstylists, team members and organisers, urging stylists to work collectively to achieve common goals.

Barbara, in her presentation gave a historical overview of the brand, showcasing its various products in circulation in the market and emphasizing the importance of purchasing from authorised distributors.
She introduced the Darling Super Star Braid to hairstylists, emphasizing its exceptional features, and also provided valuable guidance on effective client communication and educated the audience on how to distinguish authentic Kanekalon products from counterfeits through the flame retardant test, lightweight, soft touch, easy to braid, time saving, hot water set and loved for 65 years.
She concluded by explaining how to distinguish genuine products from counterfeits, providing key insights to help customers make informed choices.
The Darling representative, Biola Yaqub in her speech gave a brief history of the brand, showcasing its various products in circulation in the market Active braid, Complete Braid & Pre Stretch Braid and availability of different colours.
She wrapped up the presentation with a Q&A session ,assessing the hairstylists to familiarize themselves with the Darling brand.

The hairstylists were engaged in a hands-on session, allowing them to showcase their creativity and skills using Kanekalon fibers where winners went home with different prizes.
Stakeholders in attendance at the collaboration workshop include, the Kanekalon representative, Darling representative and AH&B Representative respectively .
