Ahead of the January 2027 general elections, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism and the provision of a secure environment for Nigerians to exercise their democratic rights.
The Air Officer Commanding, Logistics Command, NAF, Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Abdul Suleh, stated this on 31 August 2026 at a one-day security training summit organised by the Nigeria Police Force Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos, in collaboration with the Institute for Police and Security Policy Research.
Emphasising the importance of credible elections to Nigeria’s stability and democratic development, AVM Suleh urged security personnel to remain professional, impartial and guided by the law, stressing their duty to protect the nation and its citizens.
He also called for stronger inter-agency collaboration to support a peaceful electoral process.
The AOC reaffirmed the readiness of the Armed Forces to support civil authorities, in accordance with the Constitution, while respecting human rights and maintaining focus on peace and security.
He commended the organisers for the timely initiative and urged commanders to use the training to support a peaceful and successful 2027 electoral cycle.
