Nasarawa State Government has received the first batch of over 61,000 doses of Oxford AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.
Commissioner for Health in the state Mr Ahmed Yahaya stated this in an interview with Radio Nigeria in Lafia.
Front line health workers in the state have been vaccinated with the state Director Public Health, Dr Ibrahim Alhasan as the first to be administered the vaccine.
Ogun was the first State in the country to receive is vaccines on Monday, followed by Lagos in the early hours of Tuesday.
Tuesday night, Ondo and Kwara also received it consignment of vaccine.
The flag-off of vaccination commenced last Friday in the FCT.
President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo were vaccinated publicly last Saturday.
Members of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID19 took the shot on Monday.
Governors are to follow suit on Wednesday, March 10.
