The Shehu of Dikwa, Alhaji Ibrahim Ibn Umar Ibrahim El-Kanemi, attended the second edition of the Quranic recitation competition in Dikwa, Borno State, on Saturday, January 23, 2025.
The event, organized by the 24 Task Force Brigade Dikwa, aimed to promote peace and unity among communities in Dikwa Local Government Area.
A statement issued on Monday by Zanna Abubakar Mala Gajibo, the Zanna wawurma of Dikwa Emirate Council, commended the 24 Task Force Brigade Dikwa for organizing the competition.
The Shehu emphasized the importance of education, both Islamic and Western, for children and expressed his commitment to supporting education in the area.
Participants from four local government areas – Ngala, Mafa, Dikwa, and Marte – took part in the event. Winners received certificates and prizes, with Kadir Zanna securing first place and a hajj slot. Abbas Ali and Fatima Muhammad Ba’ale took second and third positions, respectively.
The Chief Imam of the 24 Task Force Brigade Dikwa, Lt Abdulssalam Wakil Musa, congratulated the winners and participants, calling on the Muslim Ummah to intensify prayers for peace, unity, and harmony in Nigeria.
Major Gazuwa, representing the 24 Task Force Brigade Dikwa, emphasized the importance of education in promoting peace and unity, urging parents and guardians to educate their children.
The event, held at Shehu Sanda Primary School in Dikwa, brought together various communities, fostering a sense of unity and cooperation.
