The Executive Director of Nigeria Student Venture Prize (NSVP), Elvis Boniface, disclosed this during a press briefing at The University of Calabar in company with Dapo Lawole hyead Executive, Originations Africa Plus Partners Nigeria Limited (APP) and Fumi Ayirioritse Shepherd Chief Operating Officer, WinddsWorth Hotel Calabar, Cross River State capital.
PATRICK ABANG, Calabar –
The Executive Director of Nigeria Student Venture Prize (NSVP), Elvis Boniface, has said that due to the plethora of high paying jobs and lack of matching requsite skills to fill these opportunities, the second edition of the prize is aimed at solving national problems through rethinking tertiary education in Nigeria with entrepreneurship.
Elvis also said that the NSVP is designed to empower the most advanced yet simple entrepreneurial ventures by Nigerian undergraduate and graduates students.
“It seek to support individual student who have identified a significant opportunity, and whose ventures have the potential to create impact scale”
The Executive Director disclosed this during a press briefing at The University of Calabar in company with Dapo Lawole hyead Executive, Originations Africa Plus Partners Nigeria Limited (APP) and Fumi Ayirioritse Shepherd Chief Operating Officer, WinddsWorth Hotel Calabar, Cross River State capital.
According to Elvis, “our winners this year will not be a local champion, he/she will proceed further to represent Nigeria at the Startup World Cup, there will be over 100 international teams from Universities across the World pitching for a chance to win 15,000 USD”.
He said teams would have access to investors, mentors and other experts from Denmark and China.
“As you can see the Nigeria Student Venture prize has been increased from N1.5m to N3m while the two first runner’s up will get N1m and N500.000 consolation prizes respectively” he started
Dipo Lawole of Africa Plus Partners Nigeria said his organization is a security and exchange fund manager that’s work with Partners to develop infrastructure like power, student housing scheme, entrepreneurship and transportation.
Fumi Ayirioritse the Chief Operating Officer of Windsworth Hotel Calabar, said there are over 400 rooms with twenty four hours power supply with 1,600 capacity.
