Sen. Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara West)
Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari (APC-Zamfara) has urged Muslims to uphold the virtues learnt during the holy month of Ramadan.
Speaking to journalists at his residence in Talata Mafara, Zamfara, on Sunday, Yari emphasised that the lessons gained must be put into practice.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Yari is Chairman of the Senate Committee on Water Resources. He represents Zamfara West Senatorial District and is a former governor.
He said: “My Eid-el-Fitr message to the people of Zamfara West and the entire state is that we should apply what we learnt during Ramadan.”
He highlighted virtues such as forgiveness, patience, honesty, and helping the needy as essential values to maintain beyond Ramadan.
“We should not limit these good qualities to Ramadan alone. We must continue practising them throughout the remaining months of the year.
“Let us also promote unity, peace, and stability among ourselves, as taught in the Holy Quran,” he stated.
Yari encouraged the people of Zamfara to continue praying for Allah’s intervention in addressing security challenges and economic hardship across the country.
Regarding President Bola Tinubu’s 73rd birthday, Yari called on Nigerians, regardless of religious, political, or regional differences, to pray for him.
“I believe the President, as our leader, deserves our prayers to move the country forward.
“We must support him with prayers and understanding. President Tinubu is a great leader who has dedicated much of his life to leadership.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and my constituency, we join thousands of well-wishers in celebrating the President on his 73rd birthday,” he said. (NAN)
