Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development (ALFOPED), a non governmental organization has trained 30 selected members of Early/ Forced Marriage Women Group and Mothers of invisible children on psycho-social support, entrepreneurship and capacity building.
The 2-day training workshop which was held at the Allamin. Foundation for Peace and Development Office in Maiduguri.
In her welcome address, the Executive Director of Allamin Foundation for Peace and Development, Hajiya Hamsatu Allamin thanked all the participants and resource persons for their efforts and commitments in ensuring the success of the workshop.
Hajiya Allamin noted that the participants were very luck to be among the selected and screened beneficiaries of the training programme.
Represented by Allamin Foundation Gender Officer, Hajiya Falmata Musa, she said the training was organized purposely to orientate, educate and enlighten the participants with useful information and impart knowledge on them specifically on psycho social and business support with the aim of making them entrepreneurs and self reliant as well as independent income earners.
She added that as Independent women and entrepreneurs, they can be able to take care of themselves, children and families as well as others without necessarily stressing anyone or their loved ones to tackle the biting economic hardships and sufferings.
The Executive Director also charged the participants to make proper use of the cash support to improve their living conditions.
In their separate marks, some of the beneficiaries, prayed for Allamin Foundation, management staff, resource persons to continue to wax stronger in strength and services to humanity.
Others could not hide their joy and and excitement at the end of the training programme and disbursement of cash support, as each beneficiaries went home with the sum N30, 000 cash in addition to transport allowances.
The Resource Persons included: Hajiya Kime Gado who dwelt on psycho social support and capacity building; Hajiya Falmata Abdulkadir, who focused on religious counselling while Hajiya Bintu Bukar and Tijani Alkali elaborated on income generation activities, business entrepreneurship and cash support and disbursement management.
Highlights of the training programme were the presentation of cash support, technical session group, training on businesses, group photographs amongst others.
