Member representing Donga/Takum/Ussa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Mark Bako Useni, has unveiled 133 constituency projects, declaring that his record in office would serve as the foundation of his campaign for a second term in the 2027 general election.
Useni, who was elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 general election, defeated the then-incumbent lawmaker, Rimamnde Shaulu of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and the then Chief of Staff to former Governor Darius Ishaku, Aminu Jika, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in a closely contested race.
As part of efforts to demonstrate his achievements in office, the first-term lawmaker led The Nation newspaper correspondent on a three-day inspection tour of projects executed across Donga, Takum and Ussa Local Government Areas, which make up the federal constituency.
According to Useni, he deliberately chose to allow his performance in office to speak for him instead of relying on campaign promises ahead of the next election.
He said, “Rather than embarking on baseless campaign promises for my second term come 2027, I made it a choice since after the 2023 National Assembly election that my achievements as member representing the people of Donga/Takum/Ussa Federal Constituency should speak for me if I deserve a second chance from the people.”
