The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has declared that the North Central is prepared to deliver overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in the January 2027 general election.
Yilwatda made the declaration after leading members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to a grand rally of the North Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network held at Lafia Square in Nasarawa State on Saturday.
The rally, hosted by Governor Abdullahi Sule, was organised to mobilise support for the re-election of President Tinubu and attracted top APC leaders from across the country.
Among those present were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, governors under the Progressive Governors’ Forum, party leaders and other stakeholders.
The First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, also led a high-powered delegation of women from the six North Central states to the event.

In a post on his X handle after the rally, Yilwatda praised the organisers for what he described as strong grassroots mobilisation and thanked Governor Sule, Senator Akume and other party leaders for making the gathering a success.
“I commended the organisers for their impressive political mobilisation and commitment to securing the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in January 2027. I particularly acknowledged the contributions of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the host Governor and other party leaders and stakeholders whose collaboration made the massive gathering possible,” he said.
The APC chairman said President Tinubu had earned another term in office because of the reforms introduced by his administration.
“President Tinubu deserves a second term to consolidate the gains of his bold reforms, strengthen the economy, expand infrastructure and put Nigeria firmly on the path of sustainable development. The North Central has compelling reasons to sustain its partnership with this administration, given the federal government’s commitment to the region.”
Yilwatda also urged party members to intensify mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
“As we approach the 2027 general elections, I urge our governors, party leaders, traditional rulers, women, youths and grassroots mobilisers to take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to every ward and polling unit. The task ahead requires unity, commitment and sustained engagement with our people.”
He expressed confidence that the region would stand firmly behind the APC in the next election.
“The message from Lafia is clear: North Central is ready to mobilise, consolidate and deliver overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in January 2027, alongside all APC candidates. Together, we will consolidate the Renewed Hope Agenda and build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria.”
The rally forms part of the APC’s early grassroots mobilisation efforts as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections. It also reflects the party’s strategy of strengthening support across key regions while defending the Tinubu administration’s economic and development agenda.
