Howe and Nagelsmann
Manchester United are considering Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann as possible replacements for Michael Carrick.
Carrick’s future is uncertain after the club’s disappointing start to the season.
The club has reportedly begun looking at potential candidates for the job.
Howe and Nagelsmann are said to be among the leading names on United’s shortlist.
Both managers are aware of the club’s interest in them.
Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is also admired, but he is under contract with his club.
Former Napoli boss Antonio Conte is another candidate and is interested in the United job.
Howe is currently without a club after leaving Newcastle in July and is reportedly open to managing Manchester United.
Nagelsmann is also available after leaving his role as Germany’s head coach following the World Cup.
If Carrick is dismissed, Manchester United will appoint their eighth permanent manager since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
