Troops of Joint Task Force Operation WHIRL STROKE have arrested four suspects in separate operations in Benue State, including two suspected suppliers of logistics to bandits operating in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area.
The troops also arrested the two suspected suppliers in Abaji Community on October 28, following intelligence reports that they were allegedly supporting a bandit kingpin operating across River Yooyo in Katsina-Ala LGA.
The suspects, identified as Tertser Terngu, 24, and Aondongu Tersoo, 15, are both from Tersoo Village. They are being held for investigation and further action by the appropriate authorities.
In a separate incident on the same day, troops responded to an armed robbery report at Jootar Village, along the Kyado-Wukari Road in Ukum LGA, at about 2:16 p.m.
Members of the Volunteer Guards had already apprehended two suspected robbers before the troops arrived.
Items recovered from the suspects included a locally made pistol, seven rounds of 7.62mm PKT ammunition and a pair of scissors.
The Force Commander of Operation WHIRL STROKE and General Officer Commanding, 5 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Moses Gara, commended the troops and urged them to remain vigilant and sustain their efforts against criminal activities in the area.
