The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has announced that 343 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) were recorded in the country on Thursday.
In the daily update on its official twitter handle NCDCgov, the health agency also put the total number of infections at 68,303, out of which 64,291 cases had been treated and discharged.
It further disclosed that a total of 1,179 deaths had been recorded since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria early this year.
A breakdown of the 343 new infections shows that the Federal Capitalk Territory (FCT) recorded the highest number with 123, followed by Lagos-106 and Kaduna-72.
The remaining cases came from Nasarawa-14, Rivers-5, Bauchi-4, Imo-4, Ogun-4, Ekiti-3, Edo-2, Oyo-2, Plateau-2, Akwa Ibom-1 and Kano-1.
