Taraba State in North East region is facing rising farmer–herdsmen tensions.
Taraba State Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) has officially launched the bid opening process for the Bobboji Stormwater and Flood Control Project, aimed at mitigating flooding and improving water management in the state.
Speaking at the bid opening ceremony held at the ACReSAL headquarters in Jalingo, the State Commissioner for Environment and Climate Change, Ishaku Barde, emphasized that the initiative is part of the World Bank-assisted ACReSAL programme.
The Bobboji project is co-funded by the World Bank, the Federal Government of Nigeria, and the Taraba State Government.
Barde noted that the project represents a critical step toward enhancing resilience to climate-induced environmental challenges in the region.
A total of ten companies submitted bids for the project.
