In a swift humanitarian response, the North East Development Commission (NEDC) has extended relief support to victims of Boko Haram insurgency attacks in Gwoza, and IDP relocation to Ashigashiya in the LGA and communities affected by flood in Chibok and Damboa LGAs of Borno State.
The relief materials were officially presented to representatives of the affected communities in a brief ceremony held at the NEDC Warehouse Maiduguri where representatives of the National Assembly members representing the victims at both the Senate and House of Representatives received the items on behalf of their constituents.
The presentation was made by the NEDC Borno State Coordinator, Engr. Mohammed U. Watsada, on behalf of the MD/CEO, Ambassador Mohammed Goni Alkali.
The state coordinator, however, reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to swift interventions wherever and whenever the support or intervention arises for the people of the region.
The beneficiaries of the interventions expressed their appreciations for the timely intervention and support while pledging to ensure fair, judicious and transparent distribution of the items to the affected communities.
