Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced the commencement of the physical screening and documentation exercise for candidates who were successful in its 2026 recruitment exercise.
According to a press statement issued on Tuesday by the National Public Relations Officer of the Service, Deputy Comptroller of Customs Abdullahi Maiwada, the exercise will take place at the Nigeria Customs Command and Staff College (NCCSC), Gwagwalada, Abuja.
The Service directed all shortlisted candidates to report to the screening venue with both the original copies and photocopies of essential documents required for verification.
The documents include the National Identification Number (NIN), birth certificate or declaration of age, educational qualifications ranging from O’Level certificates to National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), university degrees and other relevant certificates.
Candidates are also expected to present a certificate of state of origin, two recent passport photographs, a duly completed guarantor’s form and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate where applicable.
For the screening exercise, applicants have also been instructed to appear in a white T-shirt, white shorts and canvas shoes.
The Customs Service advised candidates to strictly adhere to the screening timetable assigned to their respective states and cadres, warning that attendance is mandatory.
The statement noted that failure to report on the scheduled date could result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
Candidates who successfully complete the screening and documentation exercise will subsequently receive further directives from the Service regarding the next phase of the recruitment process.
Reaffirming its commitment to a credible recruitment exercise, the Service stated: “The Nigeria Customs Service, under the leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR and his management team, assures all candidates and the general public of a transparent, fair and merit-based recruitment process and urges candidates to rely solely on official NCS communication channels for authentic information regarding the exercise.”
