Engineer Lawrence Ada'a Dar

Two times contestant of Sarkin Dari, in Kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Engineer Lawrence Ada’a Dari, has withdrew a suit he instituted against the chieftaincy stool from High Court of Justice at Mararaban Gurku.
Engr. Ada’a Dari, a retired federal civil servant, announced the withdrawal in a statement he personally issued to journalists on Saturday, in Garaku, the headquarters of Kokona Local Government Area of the state.
Engineer Dari, said the move was in his efforts to ensure that the lingering chieftancy tussle of Sangarin Dari, between two ruling houses of Omanji-Yanki-Ide(Kutiri Kunka of Dari and Joseph Angulu from Abeshi ruling house, who is now late and four others is finally put to rest.
According to him, he also decided to withdraw the case as a result of the death of one of the defendants, as well as to ensure that permanent peace and unity return to Dari Chiefdom.
It will be recalled that Justice Ali Tari Changbo, of the above mentioned court ruled in favor of Engr. Ada’a,, where he ordered a perpetual injunction restraining the late Joseph A. Angulu, from further parading himself as the Sangarin Dari, or Chief of Dari, as well as stopping him from performing all rites attached to the stool.
Engineer Dari, who hailed from the ruling house of Kutiri Kunka and one other dragged Late Joseph Angulu and four others to the court over his appointment as Sangarin Dari, Chiefdom.
The ruling delivered on 28th of November 2024 at Mararaban Gurku Court 3, also awarded the sum of N10,000,000= (ten million naira), to the plaintiff for general damages and all the psychological trauma and financial loss caused to the plaintiff by the defendant.
Our corespondent also gathered that just recently, Mr. Emmanuel Sarki Omanji, from the ruling house of Omanji- Yanki-Ide, was selected and crowned as the new Sangarin Dari after the death of Joseph Angulu, as such both sons and daughters of the Royal Houses of Dari Chiefdom, were happy with the development and pledged their loyalty to him.
