In a powerful display of coordinated military action, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), alongside ground troops, eliminated over 30 terrorists in a strategic operation in Borno State on Friday.
Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), detailed the mission in a statement released on Saturday in Abuja.
According to Ejodame, the operation unfolded in Dar-El-Jamal village, Bama Local Government Area, after reports of intense terrorist activity targeting friendly forces.
“Acting on a situation report, the air component swiftly deployed an Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) mission, followed by an Air Interdiction operation,” he explained.
Ejodame noted that aircrews, upon reaching Dar Jamel, coordinated with ground forces in Banki, who confirmed that reinforcements were en route.
“After identifying friendly forces, ISR scans detected terrorists fleeing northward into nearby bushes,” he said.
“In three precise and successive strikes, our aircrew neutralised over 30 insurgents.” Ground reinforcements later arrived, securing the area and stabilising the situation.
The operation’s success underscores the strong synergy between the NAF and ground forces, highlighting the effectiveness of joint efforts in combating terrorism.
Ejodame reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment, stating, “Working with sister services and security agencies, the NAF will continue deliberate and collaborative actions to dismantle terrorist networks, protect communities, and restore peace across Nigeria.”
