Accord Party (AP) candidate for the Ardo-Kola/Karim-Lamido/Lau Federal Constituency in Taraba State, Dr. Tijo Kenneth Mingeh, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and other election stakeholders to ensure a free, fair and credible process ahead of the January 16, 2027 general elections.
Mingeh made the appeal on Wednesday while addressing journalists in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, as he officially announced the commencement of his campaign across the three local government areas following the release of the election timetable by INEC.
He expressed confidence in the Accord Party’s chances at the polls, saying the party was encouraged by its performance in recent elections, including the Osun State governorship election, where its governorship candidate, Governor Ademola Adeleke, emerged victorious.
The House of Representatives hopeful also unveiled a four-point agenda, promising to focus on security, infrastructure development, job creation and empowerment, as well as improved healthcare and education if elected.
“We will run an issue base, peaceful and respectful campaign, no insults, no violence, only idea and solutions. We call on the INEC, security agencies, and all the stakeholders to ensure a free, fair and credible elections in the coming 2027.”
Mingeh, further, pledged to improve healthcare delivery by working with the Federal Ministry of Health to strengthen primary healthcare services in the constituency.
“I will partner with the federal ministry of health to upgrade PHCs provide anti-snake venom and facilitate establishment of snake research center, support free maternal and child support initiatives scholarship and JAMB registration support.”
Karim-Lamido Local Government Area has recorded frequent cases of snake bites, with many victims often forced to travel to neighbouring Gombe State to access anti-snake venom treatment due to limited medical facilities.
On education, the Accord Party candidate promised to expand educational support programmes, stressing that every child in the constituency deserves access to quality education.
He assured constituents that, if elected, he would implement initiatives aimed at ensuring that no child is denied educational opportunities because of financial constraints.
