Nigeria Government has expressed deep sympathy to China over floods and landslides along the China-Nepal border on August 26, 2026.
This is contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oluwafemi Adeniyi.
It would be recalled that the disaster claimed many lives, and injured hundreds, as well as caused massive destruction in Gyirong County, Tibet.
The Nigerian Government also commiserated with the families of Chinese, Nepali victims, and foreign nationals from Australia, India, Malaysia, the UK and US.
Nigeria commended President Xi Jinping and Chinese rescue teams for their swift response and ongoing humanitarian efforts.
The Federal Government said it stands in solidarity with China and prayed for the repose of the dead and comfort for the injured and displaced as recovery continues.
