Imo State Police Command has confirmed the death of 17-year-old Chiamaka Chukwuokore, who was allegedly pushed from a two-storey building in Owerri by Ifeanyi Chukwu Joseph, 26, the boyfriend of her aunt.
The tragic incident reportedly happened on November 1, 2026, at Mbonu Ejike Street, Ikeneagbu area of Owerri, Imo State.
Police authorities said the victim sustained serious injuries from the fall and was taken to a hospital for urgent treatment.
However, she died on November 3, 2026, while receiving medical care due to complications from the injuries sustained.
The command confirmed that the suspect is still in police custody as investigation continues into the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death.
The police said the probe is aimed at uncovering the facts of the case and ensuring that justice is delivered.
The Commissioner of Police in Imo State, CP Audu Garba Bosso, psc(+), condoled with the family of the deceased and reassured residents that the command would pursue the matter to a logical conclusion.
