The Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Customs, has made a seizure of prohibited items worth over fifty one point seven million naira.
The items include 632 parcels of One kilogram each of cannabis (Indian Hemp), two small sacks containing 199 sachets of 1000 pieces each of diazepam five milligram tablets.
Speaking on the occasion of handing over the seized cannabis drugs to the State Command of the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kebbi State Customs Area Controller, Alhaji Hafiz Kalla, explains that, the duty paid value of the Cannabis and Diazepam stands at over twenty two million naira.
Alhaji Kalla used the medium to disclosed that, the command recently made a seizure of Seven hundred and fifty one bags of foreign rice concealed under sacks of onions in a truck.
“The Duty paid value of all the seized items stands at over fifty one point seven five million naira”.
He revealed that, the sum of three million and ninety naira was also generated as fees from auction sales of inflatable items and scraps.
The controller reiterated the command’s determination not only in combating smugullers of goods that are injurious to the economy, but to fight against importation of any kind of drugs that can spell doom to the teeming youths in the state.
