Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, has pledged the support of his administration and the people of the state for the City Boy Movement 2027, a political support group led by the first son of Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima.
The governor made the commitment through the Borno State Commissioner for Youth Empowerment, Sports and Poverty Alleviation, Hon. Saina Buba, during a Town Hall Meeting held on Friday at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Government House in Maiduguri.
Representing Governor Zulum, Buba said the Borno State Government would continue to support and provide guidance to the movement as it pursues its objectives.
He stressed that the state remained committed to engaging with youth-driven initiatives that promote political participation and constructive civic engagement.
During the meeting, the commissioner actively participated in discussions alongside stakeholders and members of the City Boy Movement, exchanging views on youth mobilisation and political participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The gathering also reaffirmed the commitment of the City Boy Movement, participating youths and other stakeholders to the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027.
Participants equally expressed support for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the presidential, National Assembly and state elections.
The event brought together youths, political stakeholders and supporters to deliberate on strategies for mobilisation and increased participation in the democratic process as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
