TChairman of Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Hon. Anto Usman, has said the council is targeting 95 per cent votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani in the 2027 general elections.
Usman attributed the target to what he described as the significant development interventions of the Uba Sani administration in the local government, saying the projects had strengthened the people’s confidence in the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government.
Speaking in an interview with Journalists in kaduna, the chairman said Sanga had witnessed noticeable improvements in infrastructure, healthcare, education, security and human capital development since the administration assumed office.
He cited the construction of a 10-kilometre road, ongoing renovation and redesign of the General Hospital, as well as the resuscitation of primary healthcare centres across the local government as some of the projects executed by the state government.
According to him, the approval of a satellite campus of Kaduna State University for the area was another major intervention that would expand access to higher education and stimulate development in Sanga.
Usman said the projects were particularly significant because Sanga had suffered years of developmental neglect, adding that the current administration had demonstrated greater commitment to addressing the challenges facing the area.
He also commended Governor Uba Sani for approving a 100 per cent increase in the remuneration of traditional rulers in the state, describing the decision as “a very good step in the right direction,” especially in view of the prevailing economic hardship.
The chairman said the people of Sanga were prepared to reciprocate the gesture by supporting the President, governor and other APC candidates during the 2027 elections.
“We are very, very ready. We are mobilising our people and we are confident that Sanga will give the APC a very strong performance in 2027,” he said.
Usman disclosed that Sanga had between 35,000 and 40,000 registered voters, expressing optimism that the council could secure up to 95 per cent support for the APC.
He, however, clarified that the remaining five per cent should not necessarily be regarded as votes for the opposition, noting that some registered voters might be unable to participate in the election for various reasons.
On security, the chairman commended the existing cooperation between the local government and security agencies, saying the collaboration had contributed to maintaining peace in the area.
He nevertheless appealed for additional security personnel to be deployed to Sanga to strengthen existing measures and ensure sustained peace ahead of the 2027 elections.
