Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has commissioned two newly constructed housing projects and two road projects executed by Governor Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri.
He also commissioned 500 houses comprising of 10 units of one bedroom apartments and 400 units of two bedroom apartments housing estate located along the Kano road in Maiduguri and high raise storey building comprising of 6 blocks of 6 flats of three bedrooms totalling 72 units of housing estate located beside Mero Divisional Police Headquarters along Old Kano road Maiduguri.
Governor Bunu also commissioned the second fly over bridge constructed by Governor Zulum’s administration located near Borno Express Terminus Motor Park along Old Kano Road Maiduguri and dualization of Shehu Garbai Street from Dandal Shehus palace to Galadima junction Custom Highway.
Governor Bunu however expressed appreciation for the honour done to him and opportunity given to him to commission such gigantic projects executes for the benefit of the people of Maiduguri city and it’s envious while commending Governor Zulum for successfully constructing such projects in the overall interest and use of the people
He charged the beneficiaries to make proper and good use of the infrastructural facilities which have not only beatify the city but improve on the destroyed basic infrastructure by the r cent flood disaster sequel to the insurgency .
Buni further thanked Governor Zulum for naming the 500 housing estate after his name as ,” Governor Mai Mala Buni Housing Estate”, while urging the citizens to continue to pray for the two states abd their leaders as well as peace abd development to recover from the devastating I insurgency and flood disaster
“Let me start by expressing my profound gratitude for this great honour done to me, by my dear dependable brother, Your Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno state, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, the government and people of Borno state to commission some projects executed by the state government.
“This reflects the excellent age-long brotherhood that exists between our dear states and people. I deeply appreciate this recognition and honour. As we are all aware, Borno and Yobe states have always been one. We are a people binded by the same culture and tradition that are simply demarcated for administrative convenience.
“We have always identified with one another, shared the good and the challenging moments together. We have also shared the sad and unfortunate insurgency security challenge which claimed many precious lives, displaced millions of our people, and destroyed critical infrastructures, drawing us many years backwards.
“Today, Borno and Yobe states are both striving to emerge out of that challenge by adopting the Rehabilitation, Reconstruction and Recovery programme.I am indeed glad to see that we are moving so fast to improve the conditions of our people to live with dignity.
“On our part, we have invested heavily in education, Healthcare delivery, agriculture, and empowerment for sustainable means of livelihood to give the state and its people a promising future. This year, we launched a multi billion Naira agricultural empowerment programme which redefined agricultural production at the end of the harvest season. We equally supported flood victims, vulnerable persons, small and medium scale entrepreneurs with N2. 93 billion to stimulate economic growth.
